Stroke Center
Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers is the Mid-Hudson region’s first hospital to be formally designated a Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health. Saint Francis Hospital is here to meet all of your needs from prevention to diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Stroke patients arriving at the hospital can expect, according to guidelines, to be in a doctor's care within minutes. Saint Francis is also the only hospital offering Intra Arterial Thrombolysis to administer clot busting medicine directly to the clots in the brain. This extends the normal window of emergency treatment from three to six hours.
