| The Saint Francis Hospital Cookbook includes favorite recipes of employees |
Poughkeepsie - The Saint Francis Hospital Cookbook is now on sale for $10 per copy. Hospital employees and volunteers contributed over 130 favorite recipes to make possible the 121-page spiral-bound cookbook created as a fundraiser by the hospital's Employee Recreation/Recognition Committee in support of employee activities.
"I became interested in creating a cookbook because I love food and am constantly looking for new recipes," said Elizabeth Zurawik, committee member, Human Resources recruiter and admitted big fan of community cookbooks. "My mom has an old cookbook from the Wiccopee Fire Department in East Fishkill that we are always using recipes from. I think that these cookbooks turn out so good because most people won't submit recipes they don't like."
The book is divided into categories: appetizers, breads and rolls, soups and salads, main dishes and casseroles, meat, poultry and seafood, side dishes, desserts, cookies, candy and bars, beverages, and breakfasts.
